I am so excited to say that I am finished assessing all of the kiddos on the beginning of the year assessments. That means I can start small group instruction in reading! Your child will bring home guided reading homework at least twice a week. The kids are going to be so excited to have homework!
We had a fun experiment in science. We used colored water, straws, and wax paper in a color mixing experiment. Primary colors were mixed to make secondary colors. It was so cool!

We had a fabulous presentation from the author and illustrator of Pete the Cat. One of our classmates got to sing a song with the author! How exciting!
As kindergarten scientists, we explored our sense of taste with a taste test. There were lots of mixed reviews, but most of our class only enjoyed the sweet taste...honey.
We also had 3 little pigs and a wolf running around our classroom as we acted out the classic fairy tale The Three Little Pigs while learning about story elements. I have to say we have some great actors and actresses!

Short but great-that was our week! We learned about our sense of sight, hearing, and we even stuck our hands into a "feely" box to use our sense of touch. It was cool! What was our hardest job of the week? Trying to write like a kindergartener...using lowercase letters in our names. We will keep working on it!
